Gannan Normal University

Lying along the upper reaches of Ganjiang River, Ganzhou city is located in the south of Jiangxi Province with a total population of about 9 million. Mild climate and abundant natural resources honor it as “the Tungsten Capital of the World” and “the Kingdom of Rare Earths”. Meanwhile, it enjoys the reputation of “Town of Navel Orange”. As one of the 36 big cities in China as early as 2000 years ago, Ganzhou was crowned as “Jiangnan Song Dynasty Town”. Numerous scenic spots and historical sites reveal its long history of civilization. Located in the central city of Ganzhou, GNU was founded in 1958. It is one of the two provincial normal universities in Jiangxi province, owning 10 disciplines — Law, Economics, History, Literature, Science, Engineering, Agriculture, Education, Management and Arts, with 20 academic faculties, 67 bachelor’s degree programs, and 66 master’s degree programs. There are over 20,000 students and about 1300 faculty. GNU occupies an area of 2100 mu, and has good educational resources and conditions. The experts of Chinese Ministry of Education evaluated GNU as "a distinctive university with bright prospect, ranking at the forefront of the same kind local normal universities in teaching quality and school capability".
